Lifeguards attempted to revive the youngster before the ambulance arrived but their efforts were in vain. Kaimen’s mother Caroline Ward want to know why her son was unsupervised by lifeguards and was able to drown. Police have launched an enquiry into the matter in an attempt to gain the circumstances surrounding the child’s death, and have refused to disclose any details. An full inquest is set to held at a later date. Miss Ward wishes to receive answers to the questions of why her son was unsuperivsed at such a buy time of the year. The council had defended the lifeguards and safety procedures at the pool stating that it was an afternoon public safety session about to change to swimming lessons, so as well as the three lifeguards on duty there were also a number of instructors. The pool has been closed until further notice in respect to the family.
